The Pilgrim's Rest Museum (PRM) has always endeavoured to preserve and display as many aspects of the diverse cultural heritage of Pilgrim's Rest and surrounding area as possible. However, due to various challenges and constraints, expanding on existing formal and informal exhibits has not always been feasible. However, the PRM managed to secure a building, locally referred to as 'Thelwall's'*, in order to establish the first museum in the Down Town area, which was officially opened to the public in December 2011.
